Ice Fishing 2002

I have been out to Sebec Lake twice so far this year. My hubby Jim and his son, Brett, go out quite a bit. I took our grandson, Ben, both times that I have gone out. The first time we went, it was cloudy but warm. The next time we went, there was not a cloud in the sky, the wind was blowing hard across the lake and it was bitter cold out there. Was much warmer in town.

The first day we went, Ben asked Uncle Brett a gazillion questions about fish, bait, fishing, traps, etc.

He checked out the baitfish and thoroughly examined this one that had died.

He thought that the two fish that Uncle Brett and Grampy caught (before we got there) were quite heavy to hold.

Uncle Brett took Ben for a ride on his snowmobile. Ben thought that was pretty cool.

The next time Ben and I went out, the guys had hauled out our ice shack. Good thing they did, as it was VERY COLD that day.

Ben and I stayed in the shack most of the time where it was warm. He tried jigging for fish while we were in there.

I watched the guys through the frosted window, and Brett would occassionally look in through the window to see how Ben was doing.

I stepped outside to get this shot of Brett with the 20" togue he had caught that morning. Also took this pic of Borestone Mountain (which you can see in the background in some of these pics).

Later I took a pic of this pack basket by the fish trap. Then Ben, Katie and I left the lake and went home.

Let's see a few winter scenics
